Spring into Life

Spring is the perfect time for life cycle science as new life is evolving all around us. Science Learning Lab, LLC. is gearing up to teach pre-k students about the life cycles of plants, frogs, chickens, and butterflies.

Life cycles are a series of developmental changes that species undergo. Learning about life cycles is a critical component to a science unit. Life cycles are everywhere teaching us about birth, maturity, death, and other changes. Some life cycles introduce students to metamorphosis, which includes four developmental stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. These types of species include frogs, butterflies, bees, and beetles. SLL is currently watching tadpoles grow into frogs! Check out our Facebook page to follow along.

We will visit students and introduce them to the life cycle of plants with fun, interactive activities. Planting seeds is a must! We will observe and record data as the seeds grow and go through their life cycle! Tadpoles will travel with us so that students are able to visualize the process of metamorphosis and compare the beginning of a frog life cycle to the adult stage. At SLL, we feel that interactive activities are an important part of the learning process. We strive to develop lessons for schools, and other organizations, that help connect students, the natural world, and science standards all-in-one!
