We're Falling into Science at SLL

Updated: Oct 29, 2022

We're falling into science here at Science Learning Lab, LLC.! This fall we are currently teaching a series of homeschooling classes at Parkesburg Library in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania. Students have had the chance to learn about different tree species, leaves, and seeds while mixing art and science together. Pumpkin slime science was also a popular hit with the students!

Homeschoolers met with some live slugs and experimented with making our own slug slime. Students discovered that mayonaise worked like real slug slime, but vegetable oil felt like real slug slime. It was a great discovery!

SLL has had the pleasure of visiting Barnsley Academy Daycare and Early Learning Center in Oxford and Quarryville. Working with their unit topics, we develop science activities and experiments that help supplement their material. In September, students came back to school with a focus of All About Me! SLL was able to help the kids get a closer look at their unique finger prints. In October, students are learning about weather and seasons. Luckily, it was a rainy, dreary day outside when we headed out to do some activities all about rain!

This fall we've had the opportunity to work with a church group from Wesley Church in Quarryville. Students met some live critters and learned all about the micro-habitat of life under a log. We've been very busy here at SLL this fall and have been blessed with some amazing opportunities to work with new and returning students!
